The holidays are once again upon us. But with massive cuts to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits, layoffs, another other financial hardships associated with the season, many single-parent families will struggle to provide festive holiday meals for their children.
Beyond Baby Mamas wants to help by setting up a network for individuals and families to give to members of our ever-growing minority single-parent community.
Here’s how it will work:
- Single-parent families in need will use the contact form below to explain their situation, specify their number of children and provide accurate and current contact information so that we can ensure that they receive a grocery store gift card.
- As families’ request begin to come in, Beyond Baby Mamas will match families to donors. If you’re interested in giving, please contact us via Twitter, Facebook, or email at beyondbabymamas at gmail dot com, providing your name and email address. We will send you a mailing address for the family, as well as the name of their local grocery store and its gift card page.
- Donor families will place an order for a grocery store gift card, using the name and address provided by the recipient family.
- Gift card amount values may vary, based on size of recipient family and donor contribution ability (If a donor is only able to give a very small amount, you may receive more than one gift card from more than one donor).
For our Thanksgiving initiative, all requests made via the contact form below MUST be completed by Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the latest. One request per family.
